Tips for the On-Line Brush-Off
It's nice to hear about all the wonderful people who meet via the The Stranger Personals. It really is. But I must say, it can be incredibly frustrating as well. People use the Personals for so many different purposes. Some use it for sex talk, others in search of a soul mate, some to hide behind a contrived identity, others just enjoy the attention and the chance to say "Go away" or "Get a life". I've experienced some really great, sweet women on here. Then again, I've had some damn cold bitches to deal with. It's so hard to know what people want. I just find it utterly amazing that people can get such joy from playing with others' emotions the way they do. I think doing this is a lot easier behind an internet wall of sorts. To do this in person would be a lot more difficult. I just think people should really think about who might be on the other end of their e-mail and/or IG. It doesn't take much to say "Thanks, it was really nice of you to respond but I'm not interested". This isn't a "Boo Hoo" session. I expect no tissues. I just think it should be known that some people on the site really are looking for that someone special that they might not ordinarily meet at a bar or night club. It's a tough, not so trusting world out there. A little pleasantry goes a long, long way. Thanks for listening.
