The Virgin
This whole game of Internet dating is very new to me. Up until recently I thought Internet personals to be weird, silly, a bit desperate. The notion of corresponding via computer with a complete stranger that you can't see, touch, smell or experience the physical energy of just didn't seem right. I have always heard of people meeting through personal ads and in fact I have friends both gay and straight who are in their current relationships compliments of the Internet. I guess after not having had very much success beyond hooking up with guys in bars and the few affairs I've had with people at work (which we all know doesn't work), I decided to give a try.
The first ad I responded to was a cute guy with a cat who enjoyed shopping, flowers, and "the dark side" on occasion. Sounds like my dream come true! We instantly started e-mailing each other. Before I knew it we were having "computer sex." This was fun and kept me entertained while at work.
After two long weeks of communicating over the computer and talking on the telephone we finally arranged to meet. I was now going to lose my Personals virginity. Our meeting was a big disappointment and after all those words we shared electronically there were none left to exchange while we were face to face with each other.
My first instinct was to be jaded, but I decided not to have a negative attitude. This is even after going on multiple dates with guys either in denial about their sexual orientation or married yet emotionally fragile due to the process of a divorce. After all of that, I did manage to meet a rather intelligent, nice exciting guy. And last week I got laid, thanks of course to The Stranger Personals!
